About the Golden Zone Projects

The Golden Zone Project is 100%-owned by Contango Ore and comprised of a 2,960-acre Uplands Mining Lease with an expiry date of 2050, surrounded by 68 State of Alaska mining claims totaling 7,720 acres. The project contains a NI 43-101-compliant, open-pit-contained mineral resource estimate (MRE) with a total indicated resource of 4.2 Mt grading 1.99 g/t gold, 10.38 g/t silver at a 0.5 g/t gold cut-off (267,400 oz Au). Previously owned by Avidian Gold, historic drilling includes ~26,662m used to delineate the 2016 resource.

Land Tenure and Prospects

Over 25 named prospects within three NE–SW striking corridors:

  • Golden Zone Corridor (>19 km mineralized trend) with MRE
  • Long Creek Corridor (>3 km mineralized trend)
  • Silver Dikes Corridor

Geologic Summary

  • Hosted in the “Chulitna Block” at the northwestern end of the Wrangellia Terrane
  • Geology characterized by Paleozoic to Cretaceous metasediments and volcanic rocks intruded by Late Cretaceous to Early Tertiary stocks and dykes
  • Breccia Pipe Deposit is the anchor to additional peripheral mineralization and nearby discoveries

Key Mineralization

  • Breccia Pipe
NE plunging pipe-like body of monolithic crackle to jigsaw breccia
Hosted entirely within monzodiorite porphyry stock and healed by quartz and sulfides
    • High-grade sulphide breccia at lower depth
    • Low-grade siliceous breccia
  • BLT–Lindfors Shear Zone
NE striking, steeply dipping, altered-sheared listwanitic vein-dike complex

MRE and Future Potential

  • NI 43-101-compliant open-pit MRE (2016) carried out by A.C.A. Howe International Limited for the Breccia Pipe and BLT-Lindfors shear zone
  • Indicated Resource:
    4.2 Mt grading 1.99 g/t Au and 10.38 g/t Ag
  • Inferred Resource:
    1.35 Mt grading 0.83 g/t Au and 2.56 g/t Ag
  • Breccia Pipe
NE plunging pipe-like body of monolithic crackle to jigsaw breccia
Hosted entirely within monzodiorite porphyry stock and healed by quartz and sulfides
    • High-grade sulphide breccia at lower depth
    • Low-grade siliceous breccia
  • BLT–Lindfors Shear Zone
NE striking, steeply dipping, altered-sheared listwanitic vein-dike complex

Resource Expansion Potential

  1. Mayflower Extension Zone (MEZ)
~600 m trend and open to NE
  2. BLT Shear Zone
    >
    1.5 km of mineralization

  3. Breccia Pipe Margins (below 150 m)
  4. Monzodiorite hosting the Breccia Pipe Deposit

Drill-Ready Targets

  1. Copper King
    >2 km mineralized conglomerate porphyritic stockworks

  • Several breccia pipe intercepts are not included in the 2016 MRE and are targets for future exploration aimed at expanding the mineral resource.

  • Opportunities to drill step-outs at the BLT-Lindfors shear zone to expand the 2016 MRE.

  • Opportunities to drill the Mayflower prospect skarn and vein/fault mineralization to assess its potential to be incorporated into the resource.

  • Opportunities to drill the Copper King prospect replacement pyrrhotite-bornite-chalcopyrite mineralization hosted in hornfels and andesite east of a ~210 m wide quartz porphyry granite.

  • Compelling regional targets such as JJ and MJ that coincide with geophysical magnetic highs and grab samples with up to 5.17 g/t Au and 4.2 g/t Au with 2.77% Cu.
